Please Know You Can Get Help
Personally, I use writing as a form of therapy. So there are topics discussed in my writings that could be considered triggering. I am a strong advocate that writing can help expel negative emotions and lead to a healthier emotional lifestyle. Yet, writing alone cannot do this. If you are struggling with depression or anxiety like I have—or even just the stresses of life never be afraid to ask for help. I attend therapy and it is truly one of the most beneficial aspects of my life. If you are on a college campus look into your counseling services, see options that your healthcare provider has and I will list some free options below. It does get better. I promise. It doesn’t mean the struggle will end completely but you will learn to have it no longer control you and maybe even through writing you can reclaim your voice.
