Your Person

Why is it that you can feel as if you belong to a person—even if you’ve just met. There is just something about them that is different that causes you to want to get to know them. Every inch of them from the wrinkles in their forehead to the calluses on their feet. They are the person you want to hold you while you cry with their arms wrapped around you until you melt into a deep sleep.

They are the kind of person that reminds you of who you are, of who you strive to be. They push you and challenge you out of a deep love and respect for you. The kind of person that makes you laugh so hard that you are struggling to breathe. A person that each time you see them you are reminded that your heart is beating in your chest.

You can vividly picture eternity with this person, even though you’ve only known them a short couple of months. You think about meeting their family, you want to grow old with them, and support them through each trial that they face. You want to marry them and create a life with them.

But they let you go. They choose someone else.

If this happens to you—don’t despair. Let them go. Love from afar because if it’s truly meant to be they will realize how special you are.
